The Forum of State Chairman in the South-South zone of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has elected, Chairman of Delta State Chapter, Comrade Kenneth Okorie as new chairman of the forum.
NYCN Chairmen across the 6 states in the zone, Monday converged on Kula, Akuku Toru Local Government of Rivers State and elected Comrade Kenneth Okorie as the Chairman of Chairman in the Zone in line with council 2018 Constitution, as amended.
The forum election which was presided over by NYCN Vice President South – South, immediate past Chairman of the forum, Comrade Innocent Ajayi had in attendance NYCN Chairman of Rivers, Edo, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, Cross Rivers and Delta State.
In an un-opposed contest, Comrade Kennet Okorie was nominated by NYCN Chairman of Cross Rivers State Chapter, Comrade Ndiyo Ndiyo and seconded by NYCN Chairman of Bayelsa State Chapter, Comrade Taribo Spiff.
Vice President of South – South declared Comrade Kennet Okorie, Comrade Taribo Spiff Chairman and Secretary of NYCN South South caucus.
Addressing NYCN Chairmen and leaders from the zone, NYCN Vice President South – South, immediate past Chairman of the forum, Comrade Innocent Ajayi called South – South Youths to come together for the peace and development zone.
NYCN Vice President South – South said ” as Youth leaders in our states and zone, we have a lot to do for our people. Let us work collectively in the interest of South – South Youths, for peace and development of the zone and Nigeria at large.
In his remarks, NYCN Chairman, Delta State Chapter and Chairman of Chairmen, South South Zone, Comrade Kennet Okorie thanked all the zonal chairmen for their support.
He said ” I thank you all for your support, I will try best and ensure that we give the forum the necessary leadership or deserves. I assure you all that we will not betray the trust bestowed on us”.
Meanwhile the elected NYCN executives of Rivers State Chapter we’re sworn in as leaders of the council for 4 years.
Performing the swear in ceremony, Barr. Ibisaki-emi Leroy who administere the oath on the elected NYCN state Chairman Comrade Bani Samuel and executives, urge them to abide by the oath they took and ensure they keep the constitution of the body.
